Tesla CEO Elon Musk sent an internal email on Wednesday, telling staffers that the company sent out some severance packages that were too low to a number of laid-off workers this week. "As we reorganize Tesla it has come to my attention that some severance packages are incorrectly low," Musk wrote in the brief email. His earlier CEO pay plan, worth $56 billion, was voided in a ruling by Delaware chancery court judge Kathaleen McCormick, who decided that, as CEO, Musk controlled Tesla, and the board's compensation committee wasn't independent, among other factors. Tesla CEO Elon Musk hasn't always prioritized the $25,000 electric car he's promised. Musk has long been more interested in a robotaxi, Musk's biographer Walter Isaacson told Axios. Tesla executives have convinced Musk to do both. In a design review session earlier this year, mockups of both the robotaxi and the $25,000 EV had a futuristic design not unlike the long-awaited Cybertruck. Tesla began to open some of its exclusive Supercharging stations to other electric vehicles earlier this year. But the cords are designed for Teslas, meaning that owners of some other cars need to use two spaces to plug in. There's just one kink that Elon Musk hasn't ironed out: The charging cables, which were designed for Teslas, aren't long enough to comfortably accommodate some other cars. That poses a problem when other electric cars, which may have their charging ports elsewhere, try to charge up. Tesla owners sometimes experience long lines at charging stations, particularly during popular travel times.

It's been less than a year since he bought it, and Elon Musk's Twitter is already well on its way to suffering a fate worse than death — irrelevance. How you do a turnaroundIn the early days of Musk's Twitter takeover, I told you he was overpaying for the company. Unfortunately for Twitter, Musk is not a traditional turnaround guy. Maybe, to Musk, that's a crusade worth sacrificing the very thing that makes Twitter special. Maybe this is the site Musk wanted in the first place.

Elon Musk is being criticized for calling remote work immoral. Redditors nicknamed the billionaire "Karen Musk" and say his comments are out-of-touch. Musk previously asked both Tesla and Twitter employees to return to the office. Elon Musk is getting flack for his latest comments disparaging people for working from home with one Reddit thread dubbing him "Karen Musk," as an insult. The Reddit Thread, which links to a video accusing Musk of being out of touch with the average Joe, is titled "Karen Musk: Working from home is IMMORAL!"
Its goal has been to coax consumers to make the leap to its brand with the lower prices. Finding an 'irresistible' price Tesla's price cuts are an effort to take advantage of that growing market. "We have written extensively on the drag EVs have on margins for legacy [original equipment manufacturers] and the impact of EV price deflation. She added that the price cuts are an effort for Tesla to retain market dominance and stave off competition from big competitors like Ford. Longer term, Tesla's price fluctuations could do more harm than good if they end up turning consumers off.

Tesla opened up some of its exclusive Supercharging stations to rival electric vehicles. But the cords are designed for Teslas, meaning that owners of some other cars need to use two spaces. Early this month, Tesla opened a handful of its roughly 1,700 US charging stations to non-Tesla vehicles. (Tesla designed its own charging connector, while the rest of the industry uses a different standard.) Tesla owners sometimes experience long lines at charging stations, particularly during popular travel times.
Elon Musk mocked Sam Smith's performance at the Grammys, in which they dressed as Satan. Smith's appearance has been widely attacked by prominent conservatives like Marjorie Taylor Greene. In the performance, Smith dressed like a cartoonish version of Satan, donning a top hat adorned with devil horns and a red latex outfit, while surrounded by red-robed worshippers. Smith's performance has attracted much attention from conservative figures including Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Donald Trump Jr., and Fox News host Tucker Carlson. Taylor Greene then shared a conspiracy theory about an abortion clinic in New Mexico, adding: "American Christians need to get to work."

How Tesla's price cuts could spur an EV pricing war

DETROIT — Tesla vehicles in the U.S. are seeing significant price cuts, and that's proving to be a double-edged sword for the electric carmaker and the greater automotive industry. CEO Elon Musk hasn't directly addressed the price cuts, which are counterintuitive to his claims that the company's cars will be appreciating assets — a rarity for the market aside from classics and collectible vehicles. Analysts say the price cuts suggest Tesla is prioritizing sales over profits, potentially signaling a demand problem. For the industry at large, Tesla's price cuts put pressure on other automakers to offer more affordable EVs despite rising commodity costs, creates havoc for used vehicle retailers that will need to write down the vehicles and has Wall Street concerned about the first EV pricing war amid recessionary fears. "Tesla's price cuts make all other EVs and [internal combustion engine vehicles] look incrementally more expensive, is margin compressive and sends a chill across the used car market," Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas wrote in a Friday investor note.
Experts told Insider Elon Musk's close business relationships is a "recipe for disaster." Experts told Insider it's not surprising that the second-richest man in the world would be taken aback by public criticism. Across his companies, Musk also appears to have built up a slew of allies. Similarly, at Twitter, Musk has also brought in some of his personal associates to assist in the transition. 'Speak truth to power'It can be very difficult to "speak truth to power," Nawaz told Insider, saying it's important for CEOs to create "psychologically safe" environments.
Twitter introduced a new square badge to show where company verified accounts are employed. At least 10 Twitter staff have the new badge, but Elon Musk doesn't. Musk himself, however, has not got a square badge, despite owning the company and spearheading the verification changes. Musk retweeted the official announcement for the feature, but is yet to address the poll which saw Twitter users vote for him to step down as CEO. The news outlet Bloomberg also has access to the square badge, which is currently being used for different sections of the outlet's coverage, but not individual journalists.
Elon Musk polled Twitter users on Sunday about whether he should give up control of the company. Musk, who has run the site since buying it in late October, said he'd abide by the results of the poll. "Should I step down as head of Twitter?," Musk had tweeted. Shortly after posting the poll, Musk tweeted: "As the saying goes, be careful what you wish, as you might get it." Some users and activist groups say there has been a rise in hate speech on the platform since Musk took over.
